Love it

Sounds different, and I’m here for it. Loved it.

Music Friday Live! ,

This feels like you found your home, It still has teh unmistakable Allison/Halo Circus coloration to it, but it moves with today's zeitgeist and has Grammy written all over it. Watching the evolution of Halo Circus and Allison and Matt is a fascinating adventure. They keep getting better, keep leading the the field and keep changing as they discover themselves and teh world gets to know them. Put this one on rfepleat and wait for the full album. i am sure it will be an earworm.

Not Sure I Like New Sound

I appreciate them experimenting with a new genre (even if it’s out of necessity since they no longer have a guitar player or drummer), and I think the ability to evolve is a sign of great talent. However, this is the first time I’ve listened to one of their songs and not bought it right away. It could be that I’m just not a fan of electronic music, but this is a bit disappointing. Let’s go over the positives first; the lyrics are kinda interesting, and I like the (possibly?) anti-Trump message (“This is how I run a country! I hate you, but I want you to love me.”). Ok, I have 2 problems with this song: 1. The chorus is so repetitive and annoying; Allison almost sounds like a mosquito. The more I think about it, it could be on purpose; it does drive home the message that social media can make you so vapid that everyone will want you to shut up (or maybe I’m giving them too much credit). 2. I could deal with the chorus if I loved the verses, and while I like them lyrically, the song has almost no melody, and she is too talented of a singer for that. On the bright side, I just listened to the promo for the album, and the clips of the other songs sounded better.
