Blondfire's new album finally came out on itunes. I've been a huge fan of this brother/sister duo ever since their free itunes single: 'L-L-Love' debuted back in 2004. Since then, I've bought all of their stuff on itunes, and must say, they've only gotten better. Erica Driscoll's voice is absolutely amazing and with it, Blondfire has really developed a terrific sound all to their own. Catchy melodies, great lyrics, this band has it all. This album has been long-awaited (their last itunes release was three years ago), but is truly worth buying and listening to over and over again. Listening to old favorites like 'L-L-Love' as well as new soon-to-be-favorites 'My Someday' and 'Pretty Young Thing' reminds me why I fell in love with this band in the first place. My only complaint is that they have released so little, hopefully this album will be the first of many full-length releases.

Amazing Debut LP from Blondfire

Blondfire (FKA Astaire) has been quietly and sparsely releasing songs over the past four years, but this - THIS - is the gold ring. "My Someday" is immediately catchy, but holds up to repeated listens and deserves some solid time in heavy rotation. Some tracks are playful ("Into the Sea," "Pretty Young Thing"), some are more serious ("Always The Last To Know," "All In My Mind"), but all are done to near-perfection. From start to finish, it's a wonderfully solid debut album, as sleek and sophisticated in sound as any modern day music veteran.

This brother-sister duo really has that "IT" factor !!!!!!

I first discovered this band about 3 years ago when iTunes featured them as single of the week with "Any Other Day". Back them the band was called "Astaire". I was amazed at the beautiful voice lead singer Erica Driscoll had on that great single back then. By accident I re-discovered them when the band changed its name to Blondfire and was very pleased to see a full album released. With this new album (My Someday) I find myself confirming what I've always known...that this is a great band and I can only expect them to become even greater. This is a CD that deserves to be on your iPod.
My only regret is that the best songs on the album are the last ones. Make sure to check track # 10 "Out of the Blue" and track # 11 "Eyes of a Stranger". Also check track # 7 "Pretty Young Thing"...great tune! Can't wait to hear more from this great band.
