Editors’ Notes This 15-song collection features tunes that were either licensed to or written specifically for films. It isn't comprehensive, but it's an interesting cross section of choices. 1979's "Accidents Will Happen" landed in E.T.: The Extraterrestrial, 1977's "Miracle Man" surfaced in The Godfather, Part III, and "My Mood Swings" was in The Big Lebowski. The tunes vary in popularity but present Costello as a song stylist without limitations. Whether he's crooning Charles Aznavour's "She" or drawing attention to Ray Davies' excellent, often-overlooked Kinks classic "Days," Costello does so with the affection of a voracious music fan and the interpretive talents of a top-shelf musician. The romp through "Seven Day Weekend" with Jimmy Cliff was heard in Club Paradise. His own obsessively brilliant "I Want You" was used in Michael Winterbottom's 1998 film not-so-coincidentally named I Want You. It's an eclectic stacking of tracks, going through as many emotions as a cinematic tour de force.
