8 Songs, 32 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

This politically charged tale of an aspiring boxer from the streets calls on a locker full of emotions, and the soundtrack to Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz packs as powerful a punch as its scrappy hero. Lead single “Paintra”, a nimble, drum-fired collaboration between producer Nucleya and rapper DIVINE, gets the blood pumping—but composer Rachita Arora displays a deft touch on the songs at the film’s heart, lending her vocals to the ballad “Bohot Dukha Mann” and roping in UP vocalist Brijesh Shandilya for an authentically witty take on the rollicking satiric number “Mushkil Hai Apna Meil Priye”.
