The Fighters starts with an immediately gripping riff: fingerpicked banjo twang on top of buzzing synths and a computerized kick drum. LOCASH, a country duo unafraid to take on rock and rap, thrive on these juxtapositions. Opening track "I Love This Life" incorporates arena rock drums and Auto-Tune as it celebrates the joys of Friday night in a small town, while the slow jam "I Know Somebody" puts the singers' reassuring voices over a magnetic, syncopated beat.
