Perhaps I’m a bit biased being from New Jersey, but Monster Magnet has been one of my favorite bands for over 20 years. Dave has battled his demons, and beat them into submission. He’s a master of telling a story with a song in just a few minutes, and he is not afraid of slipping in a bit of social commentary to boot. Monster Magnet has been classified as a “stoner” rock band. Well hey, call it what you will I’m a fan of music that’s full of texture, layers, 3d spacial effects. I call it a mix of rock, metal, punk, pop, and soul. Are they as technical and fast as Metallica, hell no. Do they groove- HELL YES! I cannot wait for the release of Milking the Stars, and I hope they can put out another 50 albums before they call it quits. (cause I’ll buy a copy of them all).

Another Great Monster Magnet Album!

I will admit that I was concerned about re-imagining of 'Last Patrol" one of my all time favorite albums by any artist. Last Patrol is one of those albums that I can't go a day or two without listening to. My concerns were unfounded. For me this album is truly mind-blowing. This work showcases the genius that is Dave Wyndorf , Phil Caivano and company.
This is not a remix. It is as Dave has said a "What if" situation. There are three new songs plus two live tracks, all outstanding. Last Patrol (Live) is a devistating 11:14 that will leave you drained.
Trippy, dark, guitar soaked in just the right places and teleporting lyrics.

one of their best!

I’ve been a fan of Monster Magnet ever since the Power-trip album, and have followed them with every single album since! They do get better and better with time, but at the same time RoCk hard with each and every album. I recommend this one to all the fans, as they will be led into a space trip full of Rock and Soul, but only if you turn the volume up and turn the lights down. Listen to it all without skipping a tune, you won’t be disappointed!
