Relaxed but powerful show

The show was recorded in the morning of September 14, 1971 on a small soundstage at the Danish national television studios. Cash did the show for free, but had the TV station had to pay his usual fee, it would have required the station's entire entertainment budget for whole year. The Man in Black - Live in Denmark, while not an ordinary concert, is a great example of what a Johnny Cash live concert was like in the early 70's. The performances are strong yet sound both fresh and relaxed. Obviously he and his band, The Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins and the Carter Family all had fun doing the show. Too bad the audience didn't show their appreciation (but in that part of the world TV was a serious thing back then).

Track 18 ("Rock of Ages") is of course actually "Papa Was A Good Man", but somehow along the way both Sony/Legacy and the Cash Estate forgot to correct the track list.
