On the back of winning a Kerala State Film Award for best music director for his work on Kumbalangi Nights, composer Sushin Shyam has created a sombre soundtrack for Malayalam political thriller Malik. Moody love song “Theerame”, helmed by veteran voice K.S. Chithra and Sooraj Santhosh, sets the tone for the saga. But he also gets a folksy rhythm going for “Aararum Kanathe”, featuring Shahabaz Aman. And he gives “Raheemun Aleemun” the feel of a lullaby, with lyrics in Arabic that lend to a spiritual, meditative sound.
