Matthew E. White and Flo Morrissey met when they sang Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra together at a tribute concert. The moment developed into this innovative covers LP. White’s Spacebomb house band supply the decadent upholstery—sunbaked soul, French noir, opulent garage fuzz—that unites the duo’s sensual revamps of disparate material. Alongside classics by Roy Ayers and the Velvet Underground, they make unlikely new ones from Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ Bout You” and the Bee Gees’ “Grease”.
