Great Music

Great sound, my daughter wanted to
go to the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and we went for an early show. We were in town for a soccer tournament and lucky enough to catch Granville Automatic and others for a show. There were several adults and pre teens with us and everyone was completely blown away by what we got to experience that evening. We all walked away fans. Great music, good sound and haunting lyrics. One of the most enjoyable nights of my life and I'm glad my kids were part of it! I'm sure they witnessed an early show of a band that will become great.

Wonderful American Music

I caught this group by accident last year (they were an opener for an established folk act) and REALLY enjoyed them more than the "headliner" even! They are the best of southern country, folk, and singer / songwriter all together! Marvelous story songs like when country was western, the crystal voices of these ladies shine! Like me, you'll be coming back to them again and again for REAL music. Their "real album" is due in April…. do yourself a favor and give them a chance!

I knew it would be good, but...

Full disclosure: I have known Elizabeth, one of the artists, for some time. I like her previous (very different) work with The Swear and Alastor. I've heard some bits & pieces from Granville Automatic. I knew I would like this album. It has exceeded expectations. Mostly pretty mellow, but with some more upbeat parts, Live From Sun Studio is a great listen on this unseasonably warm winter's day. Were today as cold as Chicago in January is supposed to be I suppose this would be better in the evening with some dark beer. Instead, I'm slacking off from work and relaxing with some orange juice. Either way, it works. I can't wait to sit out in the summer sun, listening to this while letting my mind go numb under the influence of music and pale ale.
