Great Performance

I had the good fortune to see Jim’s trio play live several times this year and this recording is almost as good as being at one of his shows. The set list is varied and captures an excellent cross section of Jim’s best songs. The music is dynamic, moving and inspirational. If you’re already a fan this album is a “must have”. If you’re not familiar with Jim’s work this is a great place to start!

A truly unique artist

Jim Campilongo is a true artist. One of the few in today's guitar/instrumental landscape, imo. Sure, there are alot of great guitarists out there... but very few who have a style totally unique, who have created something different, AND who have the improvisational spirit. Jim is one of them. His music is usually classified as "jazz", but it defies classification... jazz, blues, hillbilly jazz, avant garde.... lots of sounds in there, all played with the "improvisational heart" of a jazzer. Jim takes you on a journey... a familiar one if you know the song, but the journey is never quite the same twice. I highly recommend his entire catalog. And the same could be said of his special guest on this record- Nels Cline.
