24 Songs, 1 Hour 19 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

The 18th volume of Ultra Dance shows that the line between EDM and pop is as permeable as a beam of light. These 24 tracks find festival-headlining DJ/producers dialing down the tempos but not the energy; Kygo and Sigala mix candy-coated pop and R&B vocals over shiny synths, killer kickdrums, and bass that's like a big warm hug. Highlights include Dutch house wonder Martin Garrix crafting a giant trap love song with new-school diva Bebe Rexha and British songwriter BullySongs collaborating with Benny Benassi and Steve Aoki on some inspiring, neon-hued sing-alongs.

Good, but disappointing.

The music selection, although not high on energy, is very chill and fun to listen to. But I am extremely disappointed that this is not a non-stop megamix like the rest of the Ultra Dance's before has been like. I liked being able to listen to the songs seamlessly. Regardless, it's a good album to listen to once summer starts rolling around.
