Two of the most consistent and popular members of Wu-Tang Clan, Raekwon and Ghostface have gone from thugged-out project kids to international superstars, thanks to their exceptional microphone skills, instantly recognizable flows, and unlimited charisma. They've both put out multiple classic albums, and continue to drop quality hip-hop nearly two decades since their debut. Links to Poetry is a mysterious compilation of rare and obscure material from deep in the crates. Though only eight tracks, there are some serious must-hear gems included, such as Cappadonna's exceptional single "97 Mentality," "Cobra Clutch" (originally featured on Wu-Tang Killa Bees' The Swarm Vol. 1), and "Black Trump," from the Cocoa Brovaz (a.k.a. Smif-N-Wessun's) sophomore album The Rude Awakening. But the true standout here remains "Wu-Gambinos," a jaw-droppingly fierce all-star posse cut from Rae's 1995 masterpiece Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. A dope collection from two of the greatest rappers of our generation.
