This album showed me several things.
-Laurie is a wonderful singer, not just a spellbinding talker.
-She is attuned to the times in mysterious ways.
-She is unafraid to confront painful things and painful losses in her life, not just be an aloof “performance artist.”
-However, 3 songs are about whales and Moby Dick type scenes not related to her life.
-I played this many times during my own painful times and it always eased my mind. But you don’t have to be troubled or depressed to like it and be moved by it if you are open to Laurie.

Slip Away

Slip Away Is the most haunting song ever created. Amazing.

Trust the iTunes Morons...

... to mess everything up: the one song offered here is "My Compensation," not "Life on a String," but how would iTunes staff know Laurie Anderson? Some people really deserve nothing better than Devendras and Britneys.
