Soak this album up off the floor with a sponge...

For off-the-beaten path music fans all around, the Black Lips are uncompromisingly garage band, 101. Dirty, gritty, sloppy and slimy; the Black Lips pull together an album that sets an anti-standard, for music across the globe. When listening, make sure you are blasting it through the speakers of an old rusted out convertbile, cruising down a desert highway with the wind in your face, a cigarette in your mouth, a skull ring on your ring finger and the rest of the world miles behind you. When the end of days come, make sure this is playing as you see the mushroom cloud in the horizon.

Is hippie hippie hoorah not one of the greatest psychedelic songs ever?

lo-fi garage punk masterpiece

Maybe some folks can't handle the super lo-fi (i.e. bad recording quality) sounds of the early Black Lips, but if you can dig the raw and dirty sound, this is one of the best albums arond. After a few spins, every tune reveals itself to be a super catchy garage rock gem that will be stuck in your head for weeks on end!!!! Key tunes: Hippie hippie hoorah, fairy stories, dirty hands, Sea of Blasphemy, punk slime... really they are all amazing, great album start to finish!!!!!!!!!
