Hansi’s Twilight Orchestra********

I have no idea what I just listened to. It was Symphonic Metal but not at the same time. I was very hyped about this album, I loved A Night At The Opera and hoped this would be just like it. It wasn’t. There was little to no guitar on this album, it was mainly just Hansi singing to an orchestral movement in the background. The lyrics held little to no power. Typically the chorus’ makes the hair on my neck stand up for Blind Guardian songs, but I never got that during this album. Only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because the Orchestra was well written. A message to Blind Guardian from a long time fan: DO NOT make another album like this. Your songs like Mirror Mirror, And Then There Was Silence, And Twilight of the Gods gained you fame for a reason. That’s what the fans want, not something like this.

23 years in the making

23 years! It has been a long time coming. Worth it though. It is a symphonic masterpiece.

Something New

I have to be honest, I am tired of a lot of music that has been coming out lately. It all sounds the same to me. This album is so refreshing to me. I don't know of another rock group that can pull something like this off. I am sure a traditional fan may not be thrilled with the orchestra playing the music, but I am thrilled they did this. I always felt like Blind Guardian had a sound that could pull this off. I wish more people opened their eyes and ears up to music like this. There is so much more effort put into this than anything on the Top 10 in America.
