Not bad for a debut but...

I’ve been a skillet fan since I was 10 years old. 18 years later I feel like the band has only gotten better and better and Jen Ledger has definitely contributed to their success. So I was very excited to hear that she had a solo project coming out. I’d first like to say I enjoy listening to this album. It’s pretty catchy. But that’s about it, just catchy. Every song on this album is a fight/anthem rock song and too many artists these days are doing “fight song” types of music. I was hoping for something personal and relatable to HER personal experiences. But it just sounds like generic, cliche anthem rock. I kind of hate saying that cause I do admire and enjoy Jen Ledger. But this had potential to be so much better, and unique and it’s just not that. With lyrics like “never give up, never back down” I can’t say those lyrics haven’t been written and sung A thousand times.

Solid solo effort

So excited to see this from Jen Ledger. My favorite songs are Ruins and Foreigner, where she sounds the most unique and the least like her Skillet roots. It's going to be too easy for her to play it safe and mimic the Skillet formula, but artisticly she will be better off in the long run exploring her own sound. Ruins and Foreigner do just that, unlike anything you will hear from Skillet.
