Whether solo or with Black Uhuru, velvet-voiced Don Carlos never confined himself to one groove. He's a lover on "Jamaican Woman" and a Rastafarian prophet on "Rivers of Babylon," a funkier cover of the Melodians' classic. There's politics on "Johnny Big Mouth," pure fun on "My Brethren Party," and a bit of both on the title song—which promises to rid the world of evil with, you guessed it, a laser beam. Carlos is equally charismatic on a love song or a fist-waver.
