EDITORS’ NOTES

Born in Brussels to a Congolese father and Angolan mother, Yannick Ilunga aka Petite Noir, has since come to call South Africa his home. Whipping up a mixture of traditional African music, pop, post-punk and rap—before blending it all together with elements of psychedelica and EDM—his sound is as difficult to pin down, as it is to shake from your system once you hear it. Restrained, hypnotic and delightfully abstract—welcome to Ilunga’s fascinating world of "noirwave”.

Cool album

Like the beats, love the voice. Lyrics are nice too.

Sublime decadence food for starving eras.

I discovered Petite Noir by accident what a brilliant day. This album is emotional art. Goosebumps invade my neck. My emotions are massaged and excited by intelligent, sympathetic and dexterous fingers. Give me more Yannick Ilunga and friends!
