Jerry Herman's Best Show Ever

I am not a fan of mainstream theatre, but every so often comes along an amazing mainstream show (Wicked, Shrek the Musical, Side Show, to name a few) La Cage aux Folles is one of those. First off, the only reason I bought this CD is because I saw George Hearn's name on the cover. When I see his name I black-out and when I come to I have an empty wallet and new songs stuck in my head. George Gearn is absolutely amazing at everything he decides to grace his glorious voice with. "I Am What I Am" is truly one of the best songs George Hearn has ever sung and it suits him so well. All the songs on this album have been so well crafted with witty lyrics and the actors all perform them with such astounding talent and energy. It truly amazes me. For any of you Hearn fans: this is a must!

LOVE this!

I saw the original Broadway production, in fact it was the first Broadway show I ever saw in New York. I was sitting on the aisle, and was just in awe when George Hearn finished I Am What I Am, and stormed past me out the back of the theater. Great memories from WAY too many years ago.
