On their 2004 debut, Kasabian proved themselves to be astute historians of British rock. From the lysergic grooves of Primal Scream and Happy Mondays to the jangling rock of Oasis, with bits of The Verve's soaring anthems and The Stone Roses' strident pulse thrown in, Kasabian vaulted the quartet to stardom, particularly as a live act. "Test Transmission" shimmies with psychedelic energy, while "Reason Is Treason" features a lockstep groove compliments of the band's airtight rhythm section. Merging driving rock with astral boogie, "Club Foot" exemplifies the band's sound. The song conquered alternative rock charts around the world.
