Ignore This Album At Your Own Peril

Where does a young woman from Austin, Texas go to start a career as a jazz vocalist. Well, Hailey Tuck went to Paris. After a few years singing in night clubs and other jazz venues, she has burst out with this marvelous album of interpretations of songs written by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Betty Comden, Joni Mitchell and even Paul McCartney. There's not a dud anywhere in this album. Backed by some of the best UK and European musicians, the arrangements are simple and fresh. The Hammond B3 organ absolutely completes these 12 charts. Tuck penned just one track, "Last In Line," but it stands tall amonst the writings of the more well known writers here.

Just the right vibey album

I love this haunting naïf voice! This album is a mix of some of my favorite songs by my favorite artists done in a way I would never have expected. And some amazing original work as well...
