I was up at a University a few months ago and I happened upon a "free CDs" bin outside of the college's radio station. Seeing that these CDs were free, regardless of how abysmal most them them were going to end up being, I picked up three or four based purely on how cool their cover arts were. As soon as I got back to my place, I decided to give each of them a quick listen to see what I'd come across. The first one had no CD. The second one was the worst metal album I've ever heard. The third one was the second worse metal album I've ever heard. The final one was Jatun.

Honestly, even though I'm not much of a strong believer in fate, I have to make a small exception for this CD. Honestly, I can't even fathom the incredibly small probability of happening to be there at the exact right time, happening to decide to even bother picking out CDs in the first place, and out of that entire box of well over a hundred CDs, picking up Jatun. The chances of finding within that entire album of wangtsy emo and inscrutible industrial metal finding this gem of pure atmospheric beauty that is Jatun is too much for me to comprehend. What I can comprehend, however, is just how amazing this CD is. It took me about a minute and a half to fully understand how great a song Ghost and Grey is, but now there's no shadow in my mind. I listen to this CD every night as I go to bed, and it has completly changed the way I think about Electronica. If you have even a vague interest in electronic music, please give Jatun a chance. The only one small unfortunate thing I can find out of all of these bizzare workings of fate is how many people in this world will never have the experience of finding this needle of gold in the rotting haystack that is today's music. Don't let it happen to you.

If you only are going to download a few songs, get Ghost and Grey, Ion Crush (original version not off of this album), Move It of Lose It, and Temptation of Joy. You'll want to get the rest.
