EDITORS’ NOTES

This five-time GRAMMY® nominee (who backed George Harrison and Joni Mitchell, among others) merges various blues and R&B rhythms and styles into something that could be a modern-day Buddy Guy. The acoustic R&B shuffle of “Rose of Sharon” dovetails sweetly with the organ and dirty blues of “Cause of War.” Both tunes set a bustling tone that holds steady throughout this stunner of an album. Though there are A-list guests here (Warren Hayes, Sonny Landreth, and Keb’ Mo’), Ford doesn’t need ’em; his rep as a gifted guitarist, singer, and songwriter is absolutely warranted here.

Ford is Great...

But this album has no identity. All songs are ok, but that's it. He doesn't step out at all or take advantage of his special guests that could really have kicked this in the butt. I'll still be at the show, but this one is a pass overall.

Please see this. I have a dream

My dream is to be a rockstar. More than anything in the world but... Lately i've had this feeling in my heart. It's screaming "I want to do jazz!" I don't listen to jazz that often. With some friends I did the song House of the Rising Sun. I replaced another friend who gave up on the song. When he decided to take it back I cried. It was horrible. I realized i'm happiest doing jazz. I want to work with you someday. This internal conflict of jazz artist v.s rockstar is killing me. Please. I want to be heard. I really want to record a song with you

Blue's disciple

Had the extreme pleasure of seeing Robben Ford & his band @ the intimate Rex theatre in Pittsburgh April 18th., for the first time. Blown away by their performance. Never seen anyone play with more emotion. Literally brought tears of emotion. Kennedy Center election bound. Favorite song's from new album are Rose of Sharon, and Rainbow Cover. Will never miss an opportunity to see him play again !!!
