Kishi Bashi's first album was great, but this one is phenomenal

Listen to this album. It's beautiful.

I've loved Kishi Bashi's work since 151a came out. The songs were charming and fun and carefree.

I'm always worried when an artist comes out with a second full-length album, though. I wonder how it will compare to the first one, whether the artist will be able to keep filling the spot they created in my heart for their particular style.

That being said, "Lighght" is one of the few albums that has, in my opinion, not only lived up to my expectations (which were high), but it had surpassed them.

It is joy, and light, and enthusiasm, and love, all rolled together. You get a love song directed at particularly tasty steak, a song about Gaia and the genesis of the earth, and experimental tracks about laughter, and none of them seem contrived or shallow.

Sufjan Stevens has a Japanese cousin

I purchased this album based solely on the NPR interview I heard two days after the album debut. if you were a fan of Sufjan Stevens' "Illinoise", I would highly recommend this symphonic masterpiece. it's an incredible listen from beginning to end. well done, sir!

Rock-solid album.

One of the best albums I've listened to in the past 10 years. It's one of those rare albums you can listen to from start to end. The array of emotions I felt while listening to this album was vast.

Each song is a euphoric experience that will take you on a musical journey you won't soon forget. Between the musical twists and turns, elevating lifts, and poetic lyrics; prepare yourself for a beautiful, uplifting, and not to mention FUN ride.

So happy I found this album :) Let yourself go on the journey that is Lighght.
