Being a chronic student of the classical guitar, when someone like Eva comes along, with her graceful touch and soulful interpretations, I pay attention. I knew this album would be original and beautiful, that is an understatement. Es ist ein Ros' Entsprungen was first recorded by her as a Guitar Salon video on the most beautiful guitar I have ever heard. The last guitar built by Herman Hauser I, I believe it is the best guitar in the world. Absolutely stunning music. The arrangements on this album that were adapted to the guitar like the Halleluja Chorus, with the super maestro himself, Scott Tennant, is so pristine and golden and has such an exquisite elegance that it is easy to feel that its home is the classical guitar. Maria durch ein 'Dornwald ging, one of her own compostions, is a haunting conversation between the guitar and violin, I have listened to it many times. Even the standard Christmas tunes are complete arrangements that take the familiar melodies to new and graceful landscapes. The pieces with the strings and double reed are absolutely infectious. I can never find the words to properly express the music of J.S. Bach, it always makes me feel like have gone a magical muscial journey and this Bach is.... once again I have no words for it. There will always be a welcome place for beautiful music, but this music with these fine muscians, magical pieces and particularly Eva's playing on this incredible guitar is timeless elegance.

For The Music Lover

As a professional musician, I enjoy this album thoroughly. From the selections (all of my favorite standard -and obscure- xmas music), the instrumentation and orchestration, to the sensitive artistry- this album is a musician's Christmas album.

As a layperson who loves Christmas music, it's heavenly! Great for background music at Xmas dinner, or to sit and enjoy with cider.
