Successfully dodging 21st-century noise
Michael Levy tells me this single was very hard to make - the noises of modern life and its machines kept interrupting him. Determination paid off. This completely improvised single features the chelys (tortoise-shell) lyre made by Lutherios of Greece, plus everything Michael has learned about "just-tuning" and playing such an instrument (which is considerable). A strong selling point for me: the use of the "mode of G", perhaps the most "inspirational" of all (which mode the Greeks and the Catholics called by different names thanks to confusion by the latter). Well done, Michael - again.
