in a room with no floors

Capetonian singer-songwriter aboynamedblu serves up a sequel to his debut EP, Alone on Most Days, with his sophomore effort, in a room with no floors—completing the sentence and expanding his introspective musical universe. Coproduced by Cat Gallent with additional contributions from Pascal Righini (The Plastics), this collection is driven by elements of grunge, indie rock, and punk, a reflection of blu’s ever-growing musical palette. Expanding upon the thematic groundwork he laid with his first EP, the singer comfortingly addresses a younger version of himself (“BLU SIDE OF THE MOON”), explores the hysteria of a trip that turned manic (“POSH BOYS CAN’T DO DRUGS”), and tackles the inevitability of death, including the lack of control that comes with it (“APRIL”).
