EDITORS’ NOTES

Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson show, Immortal, is soundtracked by a Philip Antunes-remixed tribute to the pop superstar, whose skill at pairing big visuals with taut, hooky tunes helped make him a video-era icon. Immortal’s medleys and mash-ups—which include Jackson 5 tracks, smashes like “Bad” and “Beat It,” yearning ballads like “Man In the Mirror,” and “Scream,” the politically charged 1995 collaboration with his sister Janet—combine to create a comprehensive, beat-heavy salute to a game-changing pop innovator.

Reimagined Brilliantly! Buy It!

I have been a Michael Jackson fan my entire life but have never really enjoyed remixes of his original songs. I was pleasantly surprised upon listening to this album. Instead of simply taking Michael's greatest hits and replacing the backing with thumping beats, the songs on 'Immortal' have been lovingly reworked. All songs are wonderfully true to the originals, yet more MJ than ever.
