iTunes should do away with their random featured “album review,” and just have a basic description that informs fans on the objective traits of the music. Let the customer reviews be the judgmental ones. After all, we’re the one’s that determine how many stars the album will get. This album has a nearly perfect score yet the featured review pretty much slams it. Seems out of place to me. Leave that s#*t in the blogs/magazines and let the customers' criticisms compete in the store :)

That said, this record is just plain fun and full of teen angst (in a good way), which the reviewer (Erik Hage), totally fails to see.

Long live Thrice!

Best Thrice album to date

The person who wrote this album review is an idiot. You should lose your job. The two tracks you noted were the best I feel are the worst on the album (kind of watered down). Not to mention your overly negative review is rather unfortunate. This is overall an excellent album and for you to put off listeners with your own piss poor review because you probably like sh** music is a shame. Maybe some people enjoy original music. Anyways the majority of this album is really good as it has a terrific mix of hardcore and pop punk that just works. If you enjoy either I feel you will enjoy this album

Why I waited 15 years

Is beyond reason. I first saw thrice way back in 2000, their energy was pure & uncompromised, unlike many hXc bands of the day. They were hardcore without it sticking, transcending scene limitations. Start with this album & get them all, even the live recordings.

Identity Crisis is a misnomer, from here thrice sets the stage for themselves. Truly honest artists.
