My New Moon

My New Moon

In preparation of his seventh studio album, Philadelphia singer-songwriter Amos Lee worked with nonprofit organizations Musicians On Call and Melodic Caring Project to play music bedside to hospital patients battling serious illnesses. The experience deeply affected him and inspired My New Moon. But this is not a somber exercise; Lee gives each song a rocking, dignified treatment. “Don’t Give a Damn Anymore” defiantly spits in the face of the grim reaper, while tracks like “No More Darkness, No More Light,” “Hang On, Hang On,” and “Don’t Fade Away” process loss, hope, and healing. My New Moon replenishes the soul, showing how power and perseverance manifest through music.
