6 Songs, 22 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Liily specializes in cataclysmic, everybody-in-the-pit rock ’n’ roll, boiling over with youthful energy—the band members are still in their teens. On their debut EP, the Southern California quintet plays like they’re running downhill. During an earthquake. As a tornado rages. Songs like “Toro” and “The Weather” bring to mind Foals or Arctic Monkeys at their most agitated. Vocalist Dylan Nash’s charismatic swagger holds it all together, especially on the dancy “Sepulveda Basin,” as the band searches for sweet relief, whether physical or spiritual, across six tracks.

In love

The album (or ep) isn’t even out yet, but God, I am in love with the sound and vibe of all the songs so far! I can’t wait until I can listen to the rest. You guys are gonna be big, I can feel it!

Excellent

Anyone who thinks rock has nothing else to offer should listen to this. These guys rock hard, but there is a groove and an ambiance to their sound. I love it!
