With a mix of stunning arrangements and original works, the dream team of Canadian violinist Angèle Dubeau and orchestra La Pietà bring their superb artistry to this touching collection of lesser-known film soundtracks, minimalist classics, and post-classical gems. Immersion explores ideas of spiritual refuge and emotional introspection with music that wraps the listener in a warm sonic blanket, including Valentin Hadjadj’s sumptuously scored “Flying” from the 2018 movie Girl and Uno Helmersson’s soaring “The Grandmaster Suite” from 2016 chess documentary Magnus.
