Great follow-up to Shaun's debut

To correct one part of the review above, Shaun had turned *19* when this album was released (and his reign went well into '79, when the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries was finally cancelled, but that's another argument).

Another bright, poppy album from the best teen idol of the late '70s. Something about the tracks, though, sound different from the album I remember as a teen -- the songs are the same, but something about the mixes and arrangements are unfamiliar (esp. "Baby Baby Baby"?). Is this a re-master?

Anyway, standout tracks: the hit, Hey Deanie, of course, featured over and over on the Hardy Boys. Teen Dream is an unexpected pleasure, Do You Believe In Magic is a great take on the Lovin' Spoonful classic, and Walk Away is unexpectedly melancholic, with a bit more depth than one typically expects from pop idols.

For Me...

Hey Deanie, Strange Sensation, Carolina’s Comin’, Teen Dream & Do You Believe In Magic are great Pop tunes from this album. Nice production: very reflective of the Disco style of music that was popular at the time. Great song selection. Eric Carmen has to be one of the most under-appreciated song-writers of the last 50 years.
