EDITORS’ NOTES

Cloud Nothings’ 2012 album Attack on Memory found the band taking a hard left turn from cheerful noise-pop into something far more abrasive and nihilistic. Striking a balance between hooks and harshness, pop magnetism and pure angst, Here and Nowhere Else is about as graceful a next step as you could expect. They deliver anthems like “Just See Fear” and “I’m Not Part of Me” with just enough nastiness and desperation that you can almost feel the fire the band passed through to come out sounding so decisively on top.

Cloud Nothings have matured immensely.

This album is such a change for them overall. You can really tell how much they've all matured in their music and how better Dylan's voice is getting. This album is very subtle, dark, and profound. After multiple listens, you discover new things about each song. The music and lyricism in this and Attack on Memory make me not want to listen to their "poppy" stuff anymore. They've made a stable stance as to what sound they want to produce and deliver, which has a sound unlike any I've ever heard.

so amaz

this album(like all their albums) is sooo good! i first heard of them when i was in a car a few years ago and their song "Stay Useless" came on.....i was immediately hooked!! i couldnt stop wanting to listen to them more and more! their music has always helped me get through times in my life and also get ideas and inspiration for my own music. i like how as you listen to their earlier music and their latest music you can feel how theyve changed and how the bands developed. but overall i love their music and i love this band!! i highly suggest that who ever is reading this should start listening to them!!! this band has such simple words, but they can cut so deep. Dylan's ideas, lyrics, and music is so eye opening to what life can be or seem to be everyday, as in "Wasted Days", "Now Hear In", "Psychic Trauma", and much more. i would like to see them continue to make music and keep this movement in music alive. - Stay Useless
