Oldschool and beautiful

It's not important where I found this album, but after hearing one song I was sold. In a time where there are a million good blues artists and albums, this one sounds like it was recorded in the 1950s/60s. Yes, his voice sounds like his father (Muddy Waters) on several of the songs (thankfully he doesn't overdue that fact) but that alone isn't why I love this album. The arrangements, the players, and his guitar style are like listening to something written and recorded years ago. That's not to say the production isn't modern however. The overall sound of the album is sonically powerful, but rooted in the old days.
With all due respect, Eric Clapton and other younger players have nothing on this man. I only hope he comes to my town now that I've heard this album. I'd love to see and hear he and his band live in the near future. I'm about to go back to his previous releases now and look forward to more from Big Bill Morganfield! BUY THIS ALBUM NOW.
