Absolutely Perfect!

Blown away by Bette Midler David Hyde Pierce and Kate Baldwin. If you can't get a ticket to the show, buy this cast album.

It's A Great Album

WE ARE BLESSED THAT THIS SHOW IS THE TOAST OF BROADWAY! PERIOD. If we're going to get nittpicky, which we shouldn't, Bette's vocals are spotty at times, we're missing some reprises, and good stuff that is included on the 1994 recording, the title number is a bit slow, and they simply cut and added a fake ending to the finale, but overall it is supperb. The new orchestrations are overall very good. The new overture is nice. The whole album has incredibly rich vocals. OVERALL, there is no such thing as a perfect cast recording. And it is literally impossible for this album to capture the SHEER MAGIC of the sound and experience of seeing this show at the Shubert, but we knew that going in. ALL IN ALL: THIS IS GREAT. AND IT'S NOT EVERY DAY THAT AN OLD (FANTASTIC) SHOW IS THE TOAST OF THE TOWN, LET ALONE REVIVED AT ALL. BUY IT. THIS IS GREAT!

Bette is back!!!

I saw the show twice in 1 week because of how simply wonderful it was. Bette is fantastic, David Hyde Pierce is amazing, Kate Baldwin is flawless and the rest of the cast is wonderful as well. The music is extremely well done and worth buying the album and a few show tickets if you can.
