Norteño upstart Javier Rosas cements his rep as one of Mexico's most gripping storytellers and versatile bandleaders with his third album. While he’s beloved for his brash humor, Rosas also taps plenty of deep feeling on these songs, along with a cinematic sense of detail. With their horns adding high drama to poignant corridos like “Lo Siento,” Artilleria Pesada more than match their leader’s passion on Hecho En México, but despite occasional his moments of melancholy, Rosas still delights in the bounce of banda-style gems like “El Chavo De Culiacán.”
