I feel happy!

When I first listened to this, the only part that stood out to me was, “Lalalalalalalalalala! HAPPINESS!” I thought the song was disjointed and strange, so I quickly pushed it out of my mind. I then watched Red Velvet’s performance on Music Core two days later (out of curiosity), and I was pleasantly surprised. The girls were cheerful and energetic, and they exuded charisma. They had debuted only a few days prior, but people in the audience were already screaming and yelling their names. The performance was delightful because I could tell the girls were giving it their all and they genuinely enjoyed being on stage. Their enthusiasm made me give the song a chance. And after a few more listens, I was hooked. The speak-singing at the beginning and the cheerleader chants were at first off-putting, but all of the song’s elements eventually came together and formed a coherent song. Even though Red Velvet’s debut was marred by so many controversies, I hope people remember that none of the drama was caused by the members themselves. They are not at fault here. Please don’t hate RV because of their company’s poor decisions.

They do not deserve ANY of the hate they have revived. They are FABULOUS! This song is catchy, and they are all really talented. I am so excited for this rookie group. I recommend this song to anyone who loves fun, upbeat, poppy songs. Also, the lyrics are great! Very different for K-pop. At first, the melody is a little confusing, because it builds up to the chorus a lot during the verses, then drops and builds again. But once you hear it more than once, it all makes sense and you're addicted! Seriously, get this song!!

Catchy! And Promising!

Even though the start of their debut was full of controversy.. Once they got on stage you could tell they weren't your average girl group even from SM. These girls are talented and really attractive aha. Looking forward to their next single and how popular they can become.
