13 Songs, 58 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Ragged edges and restlessness marked the Londoners’ debut Making Dens but the recruitment of dance DJ Erol Alkan as producer gives their second focus and sheen. “Two Doors Down” is an ’80s pop monster and the urgent funk-rock of “Mj” nods to peak-period Michael Jackson in more than name. Alkan’s polish helps bring out the hooks but Mystery Jets haven’t completely lost their skittishness, and the great pleasure of their songs is still in the unpredictable shifts and turns.

Great, Current British Band

I'm so happy this album is now on iTunes! A British friend introduced me to it, and they're fantastic. This is very current and they're a great young band. My favorites are Young Love, Half in Love with Elizabeth, and Two Doors Down. Another great British band from the same area of outer London is Klezma Villanova - unfortunately not signed yet, but hopefully soon!

Nice stuff.

Has a Police-esqueness to it. Clean and distinct vocals and intruments. Really like these guys.
