Hairsray rocks!

I just saw the show in NY a little while ago and it was really good. The sets were great and the plot was clever. My favorite songs are, "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now", "(You're) Timeless to Me", and "You Can't Stop the Beat". However, these songs would not make sense unless you have seen the show and I guess many shows are like that, but I think this recording is the most difficult to follow. But I don't want to end on a bad note, so I would recommend this album to anyone who likes musicals and 60's music but it might be helpful to look up the synopsis.

NOTE: If you want the song "You Can't Stop the Beat" (which in my opinion is the best song from the show) it is on the CD "Broadway Today" from 2003- the song is not on this CD for some reason.

Where's You Can't STOP the Beat

I LOVE THIS SHOW and was really excited to perform it with my show choir. As soon as we got home from NY I bought the CD! But the last song on the album is not You Can't Stop the Beat but the ending of Without Love and the beggining of Timeless To Me! Weird, huh? Anyways totally worth buying the album. Great story and AMAZING SONGS!

A Hilarious Broadway Show that Is A Must See of the Year!

I saw the show just this year and it is one of my favorites. It's such a funny and yet inspirational story of an ambicious, heavy-set teenager trying to follow her dream of dancing on a show in Baltimore. It was such an entertaining show, I never wanted it to end. The songs are amazing, and I could sing along easily and they were fun to dance to. The voices from the movie aren't as impressive as the voices on the broadway recording, but I still look forward to watching the movie and comparing broadway to the movie. This show is a must-see of the year, I absolutely reccommend it!
