Guilty Pleasure

Guilty Pleasure

If metalcore were basketball, Attila would be the Harlem Globetrotters: celebrating the genre by sending it up. Guilty Pleasure doesn't just anticipate the haters; it courts them at every turn. The second track is called "Hate Me"! From the manic ferocity of "Proving Grounds" (which zips between Cookie Monster howling and a call-and-response chorus) to the pummeling bassline and blitzkrieg guitar solos of "Horsepig," Attila back up their incendiary lyrical content with impressive musical chops. Like forebears such as Limp Bizkit and Brokencyde, they're counting on a certain number of listeners turning their nose up at them. It's what they thrive on.
