But this isn't Laura's "first effort" or her "debut"!! I bought her first CD, entitled "Indescribable" in 2002 at a concert where she opened for Jason Gray. Incredible talent - both as songwriter and performer. So glad she's finally put out another CD. The song "Grace" brought me to tears when I heard it in concert.

A Debut Worth Listening To

Laura Story is most known for her beautifully written, "Indescribable", that Chris Tomlin recorded on his album, Arriving. It's clear that this is her best written song to date, but there is something about her voice and the production value of this album that makes it so listenable. The lyrics are at times a little repetitive or cliche, but this doesn't hold Laura back from making a solid debut. The highlight of this album is her Hillsong cover of "Mighty to Save". Personally, I like this version better because of the carefully laced piano parts, but it's subjective.

You can tell that at her heart she loves Jesus and loves to worship Him - she experienced a rough time going through her husband's battle with cancer. These are songs of her faith and her life's journey that we can all relate to and sing along with. I recommend this entire album!
