26 Songs, 56 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Deorro is known for big-room bangers that feature Pitbull, R3hab, and Chris Brown, but his debut album, Good Evening, reaches far beyond the club. A rollercoaster of staggeringly diverse electronic tracks and dramatic interludes, the album is designed to be played from start to finish as a continuous listening experience. There are imaginative trap cuts (“Bomba”), funky house jams (“Going Up” feat. DyCy), folksy electro-pop (“Honest Man”), and, of course, a proper EDM anthem for good measure (“Five More Hours” feat. Chris Brown).

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

Genuinely Disappointed

Been following Deorro for the past 5 years now and loved absolutely everything he's put out...up until this album. The singles for this album were amazing but once the full album released I was baffled. 10 interludes!? Really!? And a final song that's 3 minutes long that contains clapping for the first minute and then fading out for the remainder of the song....wow. Glad I only paid like 5 bucks for the rest of the album after purchasing all the singles beforehand because those remaining songs are not worth it. Really disappointed at this album, but hopefully he keeps pushing out more and more better music after though!

Incredible Production. Not Quite What You'd Expect

This album was definitely meant to be listened to from start to finish. Deorro shows off his incredible production skills through quite a diverse set of tracks. It was just refreshing to listen to something so original.

With that said, this was a riskier album to make. Deorro's fans are used to his bouncy bangers and so I can see how some people are a little disappointed with this album. If you're all about bangers and came looking for that Deorro sound you're used to hearing, this album is not meant for you.

Even though I personally really enjoyed this album and think Deorro is one of the best EDM DJs out there right now, I wish there were more new tracks I didn't already know. Most of the tracks I didn't know were the interludes, which were great and perfectly accompanied each song, but it would've been nice to hear a few more tracks with that bouncy sound Deorro is known for.
