11 Songs, 34 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Ben Schwab and Jacob Loeb, a.k.a. Golden Daze, have obviously spent a lot of time soaking up vintage psychedelia and shoegaze records. But their debut album makes it clear the duo is devoid of retro fetishism; though their sun-dappled sound is built largely on lambent vocals and guitars awash in layers of cavernous reverb, there’s no overt era-hopping happening. And when those grand, gorgeous vistas get shaken up on harder-rocking cuts like “Never Comin’ Back” or “Sleepin’ in the Sun,” it only enhances the album’s appeal.

Captivating

Worth every minute. This is May favorite album of 2016, I know that isn't saying much in February but at this point I am not sure much could change that this year. Enjoy!
