The Gift that keeps on giving!

I've been a fan of Christiane Noll for a while and was so excited when I heard she would be releasing this album. It's exceeded my expectations. It's got so much heart and soul! Her interpretation of Some Enchanted Evening is probably my favorite, with Send in the Clowns a very close second. She puts her heart and soul into every song and it is just fantastic! This is a must have for anyone who is a fan of showtunes, but she also gives jazz and opera fans something to love too. Gifts is definitely a must add to your library!

Effectively Delivers the Moods and Emotions of the Songs...

... so talented and skilled that there's no question about hitting an upcoming note or other technical issues. The result is that you can fully enjoy the effect of each song's journey.

Consistent with her previous albums, Christiane Noll manages to make even the most familiar songs fresh and engaging. This permits Ms. Noll to be judicious about altering well-established approaches to the songs and when she does her intent doesn't seem to be to dazzle but to make the song even more lovely and further embrace us to it.

It's easy to forget that she must have worked very hard on these songs but that is Ms. Noll's own fault because her singing seems effortless (with the one intentional exception of "The Museum Song"... and the fact that she makes that BARNUM oddity a delight is a reminder that she also sets up and frames songs with care and precision although this too feels effortless).

Ms. Noll includes a considerable amount of details about her experiences growing up that led to her career. There is so much heart in how she shares the details that her very eccentric upbringing comes across as absolutely endearing.
