Editors’ Notes Producer, arranger, audio engineer…Sir George Martin’s talents gave life to many of The Beatles’ biggest hits. This album shines a welcome light on his original works, including incidental music to Yellow Submarine with its nods to Debussy, Bernard Herrmann, and Tchaikovsky. Martin could adapt to any musical situation, too, evident from his colorful score for the Bond film Live and Let Die. Making up this touching tribute are a set of lively chorales written for the film The Mission, plus a stunningly scored soundtrack to Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood and a delightful miniature for string orchestra, “Belle Étoile.”
