EDITORS’ NOTES
Since its 2013 theatrical release, Frozen has become a billion-dollar phenomenon—not just Disney’s most well-received animated feature since the studio’s early-’90s renaissance, but a juggernaut whose impact extends way past its target audience. That’s due in large part to the persistence of “Let It Go,” the omnipresent Oscar-winning anthem. For the movie’s highly anticipated sequel, Disney has smartly reassembled the same cast and the songwriting team of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez—all Broadway veterans—for a set of eight new originals that feels every bit as quotable and considered. There are vaguely traditional folk tunes (new recruit Evan Rachel Wood’s “All Is Found”) and ’80s power ballads (“Lost in the Woods”), autumnal pop-rock gems (“Some Things Never Change”) and an Olaf solo (“When I Am Older”), as well as perfectly suited bonus takes from Kacey Musgraves, Weezer, and Panic! At the Disco. But it’s Idina Menzel’s “Into the Unknown” that makes a case as worthy successor to “Let It Go.” Haloed by a haunting vocal from Norwegian artist AURORA, it’s another belter with a cliff’s-edge chorus and a powerful message: Listen to yourself, embrace who you are.

Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful lyrics/voices!
Idina has such a beautiful voice I can’t get over it. This soundtrack is so amazing, I’m very proud to be a fan of Frozen especially after this beautiful music. Well done, can’t wait to see the sequel!
Disappointing
I’ve listened to every song and not a single one evoked a tenth of the magic or catchiness of the first. Just my opinion. The rating seems harsh but there’s really only 8 new songs, and none for me are more than “ok”
>:(
They barely used Aurora. The movie takes place in Norway but none of the music sounds even remotely inspired by traditional Norwegian music, which I feel is a missed opportunity. I thought with Aurora on the soundtrack they would take a different approach to the music in this movie but, like the first movie, it's just basic Disney music. The (amazing) version of "Vuelie" in the trailer that includes Aurora isn't on the soundtrack. This movie could've taken place in any location that has snow, you couldn't even tell the difference. If they used the music and mythology related to the setting in "Frozen" like they did with "Moana", it would be a significantly better movie and the soundtrack would probably be my favorite from Disney.
