Frequency - EP

With “SMA”, her iconic collab with Nasty C, Capetonian pop-R&B songstress Rowlene was ablt to tap directly into the emotional vein of the listener, and on her latest EP Frequency, she’s revisited her keen knack for emotive storytelling. Tapping into her own melodic frequency over five slickly-packaged tracks, Rowlene takes us on a journey of exploration—of finding both love and herself in the process and the highest of highs and the immeasurable lows that follow. With title-track “Frequency” throwing back to the glory days of ’90s R&B staples, while the lightly Afrobeats-infused single, “Only”, features Nigerian-born, American-based singer WurlD, who adds a warm and welcome vocal layer. All in all, it’s a texturally varied, sensual EP peppered with pop precision.
