With his prolific, eclectic bent, Ty Segall's sound has shifted broadly from album to album, but here, his many musical faces all bump up against each other with giddy abandon. The Black Sabbath-worthy "She" and the arena-rock roar of "Alta" share space with the punky frenzy of "Meaning," gently melodic folk-rock ballads "You Say All the Nice Things" and "Cry Cry Cry," and the quirky post-funk burble of "Despoiler of Cadaver." But Segall's loose-limbed zeal makes the whole thing hang together.
